the oldest trade.
Hey friend,
Fighting is the oldest sport
Prostitution, the oldest profession
Slavery, the oldest trade.
Slaves have been around forever. And right now, there’s more slaves than we’ve ever had in human existence.
“Despite global efforts, modern slavery is widespread, with 167 countries harboring an estimated 46 million slaves, including forced labor and sexual exploitation. Modern slavery's definitions have evolved, encompassing not only 'ownership' but also forced marriages, government-imposed labor, and human trafficking.“ (worldpopulationreview.com)
Slavery looks very different in each place it takes place.
Whether is was the transatlantic slave trade from africa to the united states. Slaves of the roman empire, taken as plunder from conquered cities. Indigenous Australians that were taken as slaves by the settlers. The arabic slave trade. The ottoman empire. The vikings.
Like I said, its the oldest trade. And up until the British started the abolition movement, it was accepted and legal in virtually every culture ever.
A “good“ slave in united states before abolition would pay for itself within 3 years of work, and would work for up to 40 years. Sometimes producing slave children who would then also work.
The essence of how slavery works is… the slave receives the bare minimum sustenance to survive and work another day. The owner will give the bare minimum food, housing, comfort, in order for the slave to achieve what the owner needs from it.
Now if you think about the current economic environment most of the world lives in, its not too dissimilar. Obviously, without the terrible violence, physical/ sexual traumas (for the most part) and with a greater sense of autonomy.
“You can leave at any time“
Yeah its true. You can leave a soul sucking job at any time.
But you can’t exit the system at any time.
See the modern person isn’t enslaved by a single bossman, or owner. The modern man is enslaved by an elaborate system that gives him just enough to keep going, to keep working, so he keeps consuming, spending and borrowing.
The average debt in the United States of America is $104,215 across mortgages, auto loans, student loans, and credit cards. The average salary is $59,384. The average employed person works 40 hours plus a week.
You could make a case, that the modern united states citizen, works more and is in a worse financial position than the average slave in the same country 200 years ago. Albeit with better physical, emotional (maybe) conditions.
The average person gives over half of what they earn to the government through tax, fines, inflation. Then the other half on mortgages, cars, insurance, medicine, and whatever else the market convinces you that you need.
Never really building wealth or assets, just enough to get by, usually with a great burden of debt and at the expense of what you truly want with your life.
Essentially, if you want to be free from slavery in 2024. You need to not just quit your shitty job,. You need to exit the whole system. You need to change your whole paradigm about life & work.
What would it be like to exit the system without opposing it?
solid, leveraged, online cashflow biz where your time doesn’t dictate your income
and low lifestyle expenses.
don’t buy shit to be a higher status slave.
don’t take on any debt or liabilities
Build real wealth, assets.
setup 1 then 2 then 3 alternative residencies, passports, banks
diversify assets across them.
maintain good standing and comms with your current government.
store good percentage of wealth in BTC hardware wallet.
As long as you are apart of the system, your life is at the mercy of it.
It’s not about opposing the current system, but having options so you can leave/ change at anytime.
