old money finds new money
Hey friend,
I didn’t come from money.
But I didn’t grow up poor.
My family were middle class, we had good times and we had tough times.
It’s been interesting living in Buenos Aires this year and being a part of different social environments.
In little isolated pockets, there is a tremendous amount of wealth & “old money” here.
And then there is also the common poverty & struggle of most.
I’ve spent time with people on both sides of the spectrum.
Eventually I gravitate more towards people who have money, because to be completely honest the way I spend my money & live - can sometimes make people without money uncomfortable, especially in latin america which isn’t a wealthy part of the world for the average person.
For example, people can judge me for using ubers & taxis instead of public transportation.
Or leaving a big tip at a restaurant.
Or not caring how much a good bottle of wine is.
Or not really giving a fuck if someone is trying to rip me off for $20.
Or just even the house I live in, and the plans I have that require great resources.
But spending time with more young people who, for the most part, enjoy & greatly benefit from the financial position of their parents has been interesting.
In the past I’ve judged it, and haven’t really associated with people like that.
However, I’m coming to appreciate it more, and understand it.
See, a lot of these young people from wealthy families, share a lot in common with me. Especially when it comes to ideas about money, business, wealth, creation & the world.
I’ve realized that just like most people have unconsciously taken on the poor beliefs of their family, community, system
These young people have unconsciously taken on the wealthy beliefs of their parents..
Much of the beliefs that I had to earn & learn, came to them unconsciously through their environment.
And I believe that is the real wealth they received.
And because of this..
So they find better income opportunities
They have higher standards
They don’t operate out of scarcity
They know the importance of integrity & reputation
They aren’t in a rush
They have a higher level of discernment
And so their chances of becoming wealthy themselves, is a lot higher.
And that's why old money finds new money- if the beliefs are transferred.
Now, if you don’t come from unlimited family money, but want to live a life of sovereignty & freedom, and unrestricted creation & expression- whether that's traveling the world indefinitely, having incredible experiences, living in the most beautiful spaces…
Then the beliefs & the ideas must come first.
I’ve collected many of these over my 9 year online entrepreneurship journey, building 3 businesses that have done multiple millions in revenue each. And investing over $250k on my own alternative education.
Anyway, I share them all in our monthly implementation call for readers of my book Drop Out & Travel.
The goal of the group is your independence & sovereignty, and for you to become to authority of your own life.
I’m using it as a BETA of sorts, to continue to develop my framework for an alternative education for young people.
It’s $97 a month- not that i need your money- but I need you to have skin in the game, its the only way it works. Join us for the next call here.
Or you can get my book here if you haven’t yet.
