- the new rat race.
the new rat race.
Hey friend,
The old rat race, which most the world still lives in- was about the house, the job, the car and essentially a self perpetuating hamster wheel of work & spending that keeps you trapped in a life that isn’t fulfilling.
Now with the digital age many have been able to free themselves from:
The 40 hour+ work week & getting paid for their time instead of results
Working for a boss
Spending 30 years of their life paying off a mortgage in a city they don’t even really like
However, many of the young people I see, have freed themselves from the old rat race, only to sign up for a new one straight away.
The new rat race is…
A competition of who has the nicest Rolex
Who goes on the most expensive trips flying private etc.
Who has the biggest stripe dashboard figures this month
*important to note, its all based on appearances and status- not the actual truth of their financial position.
Now these aren’t bad things. I want and have nice things. I only fly business, I don’t look at prices when I go out. Money is very, very rarely a factor in the decisions that I make. But if these things become the most important things, we just enter a new rat race and aren’t that much better off than those slaving away in the old system.
The rat race is any distraction that takes ur attention from what u are truly here to create with your life.
The truth is, you are here to create something much more important than just to play status games and accumulate resources.
Something much greater
Much deeper
Much more authentic to you
And the truth is, the more authentic your creations are, the more profitable they will end up being anyway.
An obsession with money (& appearing like you have money), will only stop you from creating true wealth.
