multi-generational education
Hey friend,
I am inspired by the possibility of creating a new system for education.
But here’s the thing…
The best possible system for education, isn’t a system.
Isn’t a copy paste program.
Isn’t one size fits all.
Isn’t an intellectual process.
The best possible system for education is an environment, and a culture.
See, children become whatever their environment values, encourages, and embodies.
Therefore, education is a multi-generational project.
Children don’t embody the words, they embody the unspoken beliefs.
The adult life is the fantasy world of the child. The little girl plays nurse, because her mother is a nurse. The little boy plays firefighter, because he is captivated by the firetruck.
If you were to put children in an environment, say a village, of healed, wise, embodied families, who ate well, trained to be strong, played with ease, fun, grace, made money doing what they loved, created art & music out of their heart, spoke of great ideas, challenged each other to be greater, to discover their life’s highest expression…
Do you not think the children would become the same?
If the child watches dad make good money while working 4 hours a day doing what he loves, would that not be the normal progression for the child?
If the parents spoke a bunch of languages, were fit and strong, skilled physically, in music, in art- the child would become this, without question.
Now you could also put them into a private school, fill their calendar with classes and extra-curricula and try and force all these things on them too- but it very rarely works, builds resentment, burn out in the kid. It goes against the native function of life.
But if the parents creates a great environment & culture, the child will become great.
Education is a multi-generational project.
But it requires the parents to go first, to become great. To discover themselves. To create a great deal of inner & outer freedom.
It’s a much bigger project than paying $10k/ year for a “good school.“
