mastery or slavery.
Hey friend,
The Renaissance Man, is an ideal that developed in Renaissance Italy from the notion “a (hu)man can do all things if he will.”
The ideal embodied the concept that man is the centre of the universe, limitless in his capacities for development, and led to the notion that men should try to embrace all knowledge and develop their own capacities as fully as possible.
The men of the Renaissance went on the journey of mastery in all areas of knowledge, in physical development, in social accomplishments, and in the arts.
Great examples of this were Alberti—who was an accomplished architect, painter, classicist, poet, scientist, and mathematician and who was also a horseman and an athlete—and in Leonardo da Vinci, whose was a master in the fields of art, science, music, invention, and writing.
Friend, I believe sweetest journey a human can go on, is the journey to master him/herself.
It’s the door to the great journey into you
You can’t go about trying to master yourself.
You need a way in to you. A tool to go on this journey, to find out all you a capable of. Not necessarily for the purpose of the skill itself, but who you would have to become in order to acquire those abilities.
Fighting I believe are one of the greatest tools for developing human potential & mastery of oneself.
Business, could be the best, most impactful- while also being very useful in itself.
Language learning is another.
But there are countless. From circus, to cliff diving, the piano, cinematography, writing…
These are all opportunities to go on the journey to master you.
And not just mastery is a narrow, one dimensional way. But mastery over a wide range of activities and all parts of yourself.
At the moment, I’m committed to mastering online education businesses, boxing, the spanish language, writing & singing/songwriter on the acoustic guitar. (Among other things). Aka doing my 10k hours.
These skills have required me to grow into a new human.
See friend, the average person spends their life as a slave. To their most base physical & emotional desires that are manipulated by advertisers & corporations for profit.
Slaves to the state in which they were born.
Slaves to their religion, to their ideals of their parents.
Slaves to expectations of the environment they find themselves in.
Going on the journey of mastery of oneself, is a journey to uncover that which you truly are.
It’s the journey into recognising that you are the creator of your life.
A journey to discover the magnificence & significance of what you are.
I think its the sweetest journey a human can go on.

The 2nd sweetest journey a person could go on, may be this sunset train ride from Malmo to Copenhagen…
