feels like death.

Hey friend,

It’s a rainy morning here in medellin, the city of eternal spring.

I sit here this morning and I think about a time a few years ago when I was back home during covid and getting ready to set sail again.

I remember being on a headland looking out at the ocean, and thinking about leaving again to travel & live abroad for good. To leave my Australian life behind.

As I played with the idea- the whole world world seem to change.

The headland transformed, the ocean moved.

It was as this thought passed through me, the whole world became magical again.

The whole world became limitless again.

And then I’d switch my thinking back to the possibility of staying.

And all would go back to normal & mundane.

See friend, I’m a big fan of decisions that change your life today.

The big, grande changes that seem terrifying, world altering.

Like quitting your job. Or leaving university. Or leaving a safe, long term relationship.

Those big scary thoughts that can consume you.

When those sort of decisions seem big and scary and life altering- I feel that’s a perfect confirmation to do it.

See, some things in life that require small daily actions. Small change and improvement everyday.

Like skill development, languages, the gym.

And then there’s some things in life that require you to jump off a cliff and not look back.

Creating a life of independence & sovereignty requires this.

On these decisions you can’t even trust your gut.

Because you’ve been programmed & conditioned for so long and so deeply to live a certain & safe way.  You even can’t trust your senses.

You need to trust something beyond that.

Your senses will tell you ‘this isn’t a good idea.’

Your senses do not like the unknown.

Your body likes the familiar.

And going into the unknown feels like your going to die.

Do it anyway.
