eye of the needle

Hey friend,

I grew up in a christian church & went to 2 christian schools.

Im not a “christian”, however I enjoy the parables.

There’s one story I love a lot, where Jesus talks says,

“It’s easier for to fit a camel through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven”

Now, this is commonly taught as a story about the dangers of wealth, but I take it very differently.

“The eye of a needle” is a reference to a gate with the name “the eye of the needle” that was in first century Jerusalem.

The gate was so small that anyone that hoped to get a camel through would have to take all of their baggage off the camel, get it down to its knees, and kind of shimmy the camel through the tiny opening.

This speaks to a profound idea, that in order to move forward you must be willing to let go, release, take off all that doesn’t serve you, if you wish to move forward into the new space, the kingdom of heaven.

Consider that to enter new spaces, much of what you currently hold on to, value, rely on, give your attention to, will not come with you.

Many people, ideas, habits, will not be able to come with you, if you want to move forward.

Consider that, your willingness to be aware of the things holding you back (and take them off) - will be directly proportionate to your ability to move forward and through them.

See, most people are not willing to become aware of the things holding them back.

Most are not willing to come to an honest acceptance of where they truly are.

And so when the opportunity presents to move forward in a profound way, like never before, they are unable to accept it, because they want to bring all that is old shit, into the new space.

And so they come up excuses, ideas, justifications to support them, in stay exactly where they are.

The kingdom of heaven, your authentic expression & potential, your greatest creation, will require you to go through the eye of the needle

And only the most essential part of you can fit through.
