(more) courage

Hey friend,

Many groups in the space of embodiment & personal growth talk about the idea & value of “being seen.”

Whether in mens or woman circles

Or just by a friend, or a partner.

Its a common thought that this is something desirable, and should be sought out.

And while i’m sure that we all want to spend our lives around people who understand us and acknowledge our brilliance, I don’t think it should be something to be sought out.

Because friend here’s the truth as I see it…

Your greatness, your uniqueness, authenticity, the amazing thing that you are

Will only ever be fully understood and appreciated by you

And while it may feel good, and be elevating to have others acknowledge and receive parts of your brilliance, it shouldn’t be needed or required.

The only reason to need to be seen by others is…

If you are unable to see yourself and acknowledge your own greatness & appreciate your own growth & progress for yourself.

And so if you setup a habit of getting this desire met by others,

You become dependant and reliant on others.

You begin to need permission from others

You begin to unconsciously reference others in every single decision that you make.

Ultimately in this process, you lose your connection to yourself

Which is all you truly have.

Consider that most relationships & community (common unity) are setup as a collective soothing mechanism, where everyone has to agree to see things the same way- in order to comfort each other & not rock the boat

Most relationships & community are setup to help you get from others, what nobody ever showed you how to give to yourself

Instead of stepping into the great, unknown magnificence of what you truly are

Which could only ever fully been understood & appreciated by you

Its uncommon to live with such independence or sovereignty, because it takes a tremendous amount of courage.

And to be honest, nobody is teaching courage.
