boredom

Hey friend,

I remember as a teen in school hearing that…

“the opposite of happiness wasn’t sadness but boredom.”

And it spoke to me a lot, as a 14 year old bored out of his fucking mind, going to this soulless, repetitive & uninspiring place every day.

Where I supposedly being guided by people of wisdom & understanding, on how to live in the world, and supposedly being giving knowledge that would be helpful on such a journey.

Of course, it was a waste of time, a waste of potential, and a waste of life.

Bunsen burners, irrelevant equations, fake history, someone else’s values, ¿

It truly was the opposite of happiness- even though I was pretty good at finding the fun. (but that kept getting me kicked out of schools.)

Boredom, is repetition without growth. And the school system trains that into every student.

And does it so well, that if you look at the masses, they are all bored out of their minds.

They wonder why they need to self medicate with whatever they can get there hands on: food, alcohol, gambling, porn, shopping, shit relationships, gossip, status games…

Anything to distract them from the habit of boredom that has been trained into them so well.

Friend, we were made to grow.

Thrival & growth & the constant discovery of new frontiers of ourselves, is our very nature.

It is our very native state.

Anything but growth, is boredom & distraction.
