angelic children
Hey friend,
My mate keegs is living in mexico at the moment, and just had the birth of his 3rd child.
Its brought up a lot in him, in all areas of life, or his relationship to life, and its been an honour to witness.
We were chatting this week and he was talking about in centuries past how child were depicted as angles. He posed the question of why this was? And why it no longer was…
If we look at the way children, birth, childhood is treated today, you could say its far from its potential.
My eldest sister (before starting her online biz and travelling the world) was studying midwifery and she’d agree that the common system of birthing is horrific, traumatic, soulless. Far from angelic depictions on the stained glass windows of the renaissance churches of Italy.
Children are the closest thing to our native state
Before we are conditioned.
Before we take on the stress of our environment
Before we are moulded into something very different
Children are natural learning machines
They don’t require discipline to excel at what they love.
They will spend hours & hours in timeless play.
Children naturally master what they love.
They naturally live lives of creation & authentic expression
Whether its playing for hours on end on the monkey bars in the backyard.
Or dancing and singing.
Or drawing.
Building
Or whatever they have access to, to express & create.
Children naturally discover more & more of their authentic potential everyday through mindless play
No rules. No structure. No discipline. No keeping score. No competition. No comparison. No “hard work“
It is pure play. Outside of the mind. In that timeless place we all remember from childhood, where a whole day would go past and we were completely lost in the moment.
All until the parents, the school, society comes in and begins to tell them “how it ought to be done“
My goal with my own education is to discover more & more of my authentic potential everyday through mindless play.
This is our native state.
One of the many reasons children deserve to be depicted as angels.
