12 years old (again)
Hey friend,
Merry Christmas. Love to you and your family.
I am here on Gozo. An island of malta- a 2 hour boat ride from sicily.
With my immediate family who moved here, to the birth country of my grandfather, to live recently.
Its winter here, but we are spending the days enjoying each others company, quick dips in the ocean, coffees, good food, exploring the island.
morning espressos & croissants
And ive been helping 2 of my siblings with their alternative education, as they have opted out of the traditional schooling system. They are 12 and 15.
It’s a great opportunity to test & develop my ideas. And give my gift to those I love.
One of my hypothesis’ of education is… “the combination of travel & online business is the greatest vehicle for education. A much better process than university or college.“
So, my siblings and I have been exploring different paths and options that make the most sense for them, now.
We are developing a plan that is more or less what I I would do if I was in my mid to early teens again and in their position.
Focus on becoming an amazing creator. Developing their ability to express themselves in a beautiful way using photo, video, design, writing- whatever medium(s) pulls them.
Commit to publishing a piece of content (ei YouTube video) a week exploring what is most interesting to them in the world and document their experience of life. While following and connecting with other creators they love and are inspired by.
Focus on developing their skills, while also building an audience and getting clearer everyday on what they really love and are fascinated by.
At the end of 5 years of this. They will…
Be gifted, multi-faceted creators
They will be clear on what they are most interested and inspired by after constantly asking and refining
They will have an audience they can sell to
They will be their own case study and will be able to sell the results they got for themselves in regards to growth (or any other result) on YT, tik tok, instagram, email newsletter etc. as a product/service to other businesses.
Have a network and friendship group of other creators they’ve collaborated with.
They will have the resources and financial, time freedom to ask themselves at the age of 17-20… “what do I truly want to create with my life“- and then be able to act on that without restriction.
Everyones personality is obviously different and will gravitate to different expressions.
But for these 2 of my siblings, and if I was 12 again- this is probably the best path.
This is only a small piece of the plan. I’ll be sharing more over the next few days.
Talk soon,
- Jay
